How to Maintain the Clutch System?

2024-06-28

Maintenance of the clutch system is the key to ensuring the normal operation of the car and extending the service life of the clutch. Some specific maintenance methods that can be used are as follows.

1. Maintenance of the release bearing:

Due to the long-term exposure and poor lubrication conditions of the release bearing of the clutch system, it is recommended to perform maintenance after every 300 to 500 hours of work. Remove the release bearing and clean it with diesel to ensure that it rotates flexibly. Then put it in a container filled with butter and heat it until the butter completely penetrates the bearing, and remove it after cooling and solidification.

2. Lubrication of the spiral bevel: Scrub the separation claw and the spiral bevel of the bearing cover frequently, and lubricate them with oil or butter. Drip oil into the small oil hole on the separation claw to lubricate the separation claw and the separation claw seat.

3. Cleaning friction plates and other components: When the friction plate, active plate and clutch pressure plate of the clutch system are stained with oil or rust, they should be removed or cleaned in time. Clean with gasoline or kerosene, dry it and then install it.

4. Apply butter: After cleaning or replacing the clutch bearing, apply an appropriate amount of butter. Note that one side of the dust cover should face the clutch to prevent oil from flowing into the clutch and causing slipping.

5. Adjust the clutch operating mechanism: Regularly adjust the clutch operating mechanism, remove dirt, and tighten all connecting bolts. Lubricate the clutch pedal shaft as required.

6. When to replace the friction plate: During the inspection, if the friction plate is found to have rivet heads, cracks, breakage, large-area burns, etc., or the wear thickness of each friction plate is less than 3.4mm, a new friction plate should be replaced in time.

7. Other precautions: Step on the clutch less to prevent the clutch from slipping and the clutch plate from burning. The clutch system must be cleaned before installation to remove anti-rust grease and debris.
